Everyone deserves to have access to the same level of eye care. Good vision and eye health unlock people’s potential to get an education, earn a living, and maintain wellbeing.
ANZEF is driven by the desire to provide access to excellent eye care for everyone, regardless of where one lives, or cultural or socio-economic background. Through supporting projects and partnerships, we advance eye health equity and access, with the aim to prevent avoidable blindness and eye disease in Australian, New Zealand and Asia-Pacific communities.
Around the world, 2.2 billion people have vision impairment, including at least 1 billion for whom vision loss could have been prevented or is yet to be addressed. Many people are
blind or have vision loss because they cannot get access to the care that they need.
The Australian and New Zealand Eye Foundation (ANZEF) is the philanthropic arm of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO).
